40 Days of Prayer - Day 1

Monday, January 14, 2013
We want to thank everyone who made year-end donations to ROC Partners projects, Christ's Church Rwanda (CCR), or a ROC team member! Your financial gifts to the work in Rwanda are important, but now we are asking you to join the ROC team and the members of Christ's Church Rwanda in prayer for God's will for the future of the church.

In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. Jeremiah 29:12-13

For the next 40 days, we have been challenged by the leadership at Christ's Church Rwanda to fast and pray using a guide to consistently petition God as one body (all over the world).

CCR has started a series called "With Everything" and we are searching for how to serve God with everything, which begins with a self-sacrifice, or fast, to bring ourselves in alignment with the will of God. By denying ourselves of either food, drink, or things like a time-consuming hobby, we are leaving a hole that allows more room for God to fill and work within.

Starting TODAY Monday, January 14, we ask that you join with us by giving up something and asking God to come fill that hole by revealing Himself to you.

Blow the ram’s horn in Jerusalem! Announce a time of fasting; call the people together for a solemn meeting. Gather all the people—the elders, the children, and even the babies. Call the bridegroom from his quarters and the bride from her private room. Joel 2:15-16

You can download the Week 1 Prayer guide by clicking here, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter (#40DaysofPrayer) for a daily reminder of the prayer topic for the day.

Thank you for considering joining with us and praying for the kingdom work in Rwanda. We appreciate your prayers!

DAY 1 (Monday, 14 January) – Praise & Worship

“Who is like you among the gods, O Lord—glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders?”  Exodus 15:11 (NLT)

Praise the Lord! Yes, give praise, O servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever. Everywhere—from east to west— praise the name of the Lord. For the Lord is high above the nations his glory is higher than the heavens.   Psalm 113:1-4 (NLT)

  • Praise God for who he is and what he has done
  • Worship him as Creator, as Holy and as the Almighty
  • Ask for Christ's Church Rwanda to be a people of Praise & Worship
